5TH ANNUAL HALLOWEEN JAM Every year my good friend Jeremie and I put on one of the biggest skateboarding/bmx events of the year in the metro. This year is no different. Well...it is a little different. It is at the Edmond Park, there are several mystery obstacles that are currently being spawned, and are having several "best trick" contests instead of jams. Make sure you have Halloween Afternoon available to see all the amazing riding, hilarious costumes, and all around good times. NUGE INTERVIEW If you are completely out of the loop then you might not know that our good friend and Oklahomie, Don Nguyen, has been making big moves lately. Hot of the "inter-press" is THIS little web interview over at the Skateboard Mag with Don catching up about the latest happenings, including his recent jump to Baker, upcoming Pro Shoe from C1RCA, and new digs he refers to as the "Man Cave." Etnies has been putting up some really good short videos on their website over the past few months that have honestly been at full production video caliber. Adio Footwear just released a Commercial for Ernie's upcoming Pro Model. Pat O'Dell & Altamont are daily releasing video segments of the recent Altamont x SXSW Summer Tour. OKC GAME OF SKATEOnce again we are hosting the Official éS Game of Skate on Saturday August 8th at Mathis Skatepark in Edmond. Registration starts at 2pm. The contest will begin shortly after. This year the winner of the event will qualify to skip straight to the regional semi-finals in Dallas, hosted by Index on August 16th. COMMITMENTThis is our homie Tre. He rips. He goes full blast all day during the 100 degree Summer days when the rest of us are looking for a pool to jump in or a cold beverage to down. Nonstop, he breaks himself going for that trick even though his feet are bleeding form the holes in his shoes, and his board is a wreck. Tre and his brother Chris are quiet and reserved, always with a smile on their faces. Tre doesnt have much, but he is one of the richest people in the world, because of his passion for skateboarding. That is something most people don't ever get to experience. And something many of us, like myself, let go of overtime as the world consumes us with age and responsibility. At Arockalypse, our biggest goal is to facilitate that kind of skateboarding. That kind of feeling we all get when we finally land that trick, or get to cruise the streets with our friends with no rules or reference of time. Is it commitment? Our passion? Are we greedy because we would rather skateboard than work? Should we fight growing up just to hold on? Is it just a toy? Is it addiction? However you would explain it, its ours...its fun...its skateboarding...

GO SKATEBOARDING DAY JUNE 21STSunday June 21st is "Go Skateboarding Day." Every year we take to the streets for a full day of fun and friends. The actual plans and spots will be announced later this week, but if you cant tell the Bummer High Dudes have asked to join along that day to end their First Official Tour as a team. Have we posted THIS yet? Yes, everyone's favorite childrens book is the new Spike Jonze project, releasing later this Fall. In collaboration with Spike, Girl Skateboards is releasing a line of skateboards with the films release. " DEBACLE" drops this week, and limited High Def copies are available. OUT ON THE INTERSPACE This is my favorite time of year, right when school finally ends (not that im in school anymore), the weather gets nice, spots seem to pop up randomly and everyone is out skating enjoying what we do. Even though responsibilities can get in the way, make sure you take every opportunity to get out and ride around, because before you know it, THIS will be creepin in.

HOMETOWN HEROES & AROCKALYPSE If you are not familiar with Hometown Heroes, it is a nationwide amatuer contest series, that travels the country hosting free contests, trying to find each regions top rippers, and sends them to the finals, this year at the XGames. There are tons of prizes, giveaways, free burritos, music and more. It is always a great event, and HH always asks Arockalypse to be their host in Oklahoma. Even if you dont want to come out and compete, you should at least come support your homies.

JANOSKI'S DROP FRIDAY! If you havent seen Stefan's Pro Model yet while combing the web, here it is, and it is available at AROCKALYPSE Friday May 8th. We are the only Skateshop in Oklahoma that offers NIKE SB. So get them while you can. The On Deck Art Show went off last week, and was a big hit. If you missed out on the opening night, to bad, but make sure and stop by to appreciate the art throguh the end of May.

SUMMER LINEUP First off a nice "Pat on the Back" to Kyle for placing 7th (out of 1 billion skaters) this past weekend at PHX AM. Im having DEJA VU?

We have several events in the works. First mark your calendars on April 23rd for the Annual "On Deck" Art Show at Arockalypse. Also mark May 24th, because HOMETOWN HEROES has asked us to host their stop in OK again. The winner will go to the Finals at the XGames. WHATS UP 2009Where to begin? It is sad that our first update of 2009 didnt come until February, but there has been a lot going on. Computer Crash, Christmas Business, 3 Weeks of Road Trips, and Ice Storms. Needless to say, I apologize for the procrastination.

2009 has gotten off to a killer start and the weather hasnt even been that nice. We have a ton of stuff planned for this year. Without getting ahead of ourselves, Demos, Premieres, Contests, DethRaces, Sales, Giveaways, and more are on the way for '09. Check back often tee see whats going on, and whats coming in.
